Welcome to the LIFE IP GrassBirdHabitats project homepage, an EU-funded initiative dedicated to protecting grassland breeding birds and their habitats. Our goal is to create and connect optimal breeding and non-breeding areas along the East Atlantic Flyway. 

The project focuses on habitat restoration and conservation in Lower Saxony (Germany) and Fryslân (the Netherlands) while developing a strategic conservation plan for the Atlantic region of Europe and West Africa.

This plan covers the entire life cycle of migratory birds such as the Black-tailed Godwit, Lapwing, and Curlew. Project duration: 01.11.2020 – 31.10.2030.
